Going for a Botswana Safari from India
Unfortunately, there are no direct flights from India to Botswana. Most flights from India will go via Johannesburg to either Gaborone or Maun. You will connect either via the Middle East (Emirates, Etihad, Qatar) or via different ports in Africa (Addis Ababa – Ethiopian, Nairobi – Kenya Airways).
Flights from Mumbai to Gaborone usually take around 14 – 16 hours with stopovers, while flights to Maun take a little longer. From other Indian cities like New Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Calcutta and Chennai to Botswana, you will have to follow a similar routing. We recommend that our guests break journey in Johannesburg for a few nights. Other wise, the trip becomes too tiresome.
Another option is to take a flight from India to Victoria Falls Airport (VFA), and spend a few days here seeing Victoria Falls. You can the drive down to Chobe NP and continue your safari into Botswana.
Travelling within Botswana on your safari
The easiest way to get around in Botswana is to take a small bush flight to your next destination. This is called a fly-in safari. We recommend this option because distances in Botswana are vast, and often impassable.
When you arrive in Maun, our representative can take you to your connecting flight.

Botswana Visas for Indians
Citizens of India (India nationals) require a visa to enter Botswana. This visa must be obtained prior to arriving in Botswana from the High Commission of Botswana in New Delhi. There is no online visa application or visa on arrival for Indian citizens. We recommend a minimum of 4-6 weeks visa processing time.
Botswana Vaccination Requirements for Indians
Indian nationals require no vaccinations to enter Botswana, unless travelling from a yellow fever endemic region.
