"Fantastic trip!!"
We, my daughter Sonal and I, have returned from the most fantastic holiday we have ever had so far, that started from August 11, 2014 and ended on August 25th, 2014. For this fantastic experience I must thank Chalo Africa for making an itinerary that had a different experience with each location, and it’s local collaborator Asilia Camps / Lodges / Safaris gave us the best with a lot of consideration and caring. Thank you, thank you. Some highlights:
Asilia gave us a very comfortable vehicle with an excellent driver cum guide called Fredie. He was with us and drove us from Arusha to Tarangire to Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro and finally to Kogatende to catch our flight on 16th Aug 14. Fredie is a fantastic wildlife guide. he is almost intuitive regarding wildlife – if it wasn’t for him who made us wait patiently so that we experienced the mating of Ostrich that was like a ballet dance, the rhino who slowly came over the hump towards our vehicle, the pride of lions in Ngorongoro, the elephants who trumpeted and chased a lion in Tarangire and I can go on and on.
No trouble was too much for Fredie. We were lucky to have been with Asilia as compared to other leopard tours and others who had been given instructions not to exceed 120 km which included their travel from the airport to the safari park. while their cars were mostly stationary pretending to be waiting for a big game, we with Fredie experienced the Safari parks as none of the others could have. Thank you very much.
UBUNTU CAMP: – What a camp! The manager David against all odds being in jungle, where even water had to be driven in trucks from outside as also the supplies. He had all of us in clean comfortable tents with finger licking food at every meal. David enthused his staff who seemed happy to be there making all the guests comfortable and happy. Ubuntu Camp is now a dream that we would like to return to over and over again.
Serengeti with its horizon-less tracks of grass lands broken by the Mara river where thousands of animals cross, where even elephants can get lost or look like ants in the sunset, where the lions and cheethas hunt just enough to eat, where the animals roam free as its their land. We, without knowing it, have lost our egos as we watch this magnificent balance of nature living in harmony. Serengeti is a prayer to nature and Ubuntu camp tries hard to keep with that balance. Thank you.
MATEMWE MAIN LODGE: – What a fantastic property this is on the beach of the turquoise sea ! Ross, the Manager, made it a point to give each of his guest a special time. The snorkeling, the reef walk, the barbecue on the white sands, and the treat of seeing little turtles hatching and scrambling to the sea. We were in this luxurious beach cottage with the butler and cook. Zuber, our butler would produce great food and our rooms would be decorated with flowers and our private swimming pools always clean and inviting.
I have already highly recommended Chalo Africa and Asilia Camps to many of my friends. I wish you all the very best and hope to return again and again.
